Terms of Service
Last updated July 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Notaty, a mobile application that turns recordings, documents, and photos into structured notes, transcripts, flashcards, and quizzes. By creating an account or using Notaty, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use Notaty
Notaty is not directed at children under 13, and you must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to create an account. If you're using Notaty on behalf of a school, company, or other organization, you're confirming you have the authority to accept these Terms for them.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google — Notaty doesn't have its own password system. You're responsible for keeping your device and account access secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Let us know at support@notatyapp.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Subscriptions and billing
Notaty offers a free tier and an optional Pro subscription:
- Free includes a monthly allowance of transcription minutes, AI chat messages, and document/photo/YouTube summaries, translations, and smart reminders, as shown in the app. No payment method is required.
- Pro unlocks higher (or unlimited) limits and additional features, and starts with a 7-day free trial.
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — Notaty never sees or stores your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown in the App Store unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds are handled entirely by Apple according to its own policies — we're not able to issue refunds directly.
We may change what's included in the free tier or Pro subscription going forward; if that happens, we'll make a reasonable effort to let current subscribers know.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you record, upload, or create in Notaty — your recordings, transcripts, notes, flashcards, and quizzes are yours. By using the app, you give us a limited license to process, store, and transmit that content solely to provide the service to you (for example, running it through transcription and summarization). We don't use your content to train AI models, and we don't sell it.
You're responsible for what you record and upload. In particular:
- Recording other people. Many places require the consent of everyone involved before you record a conversation. You're responsible for knowing and following the recording-consent laws that apply to you — Notaty doesn't do this for you.
- Lawful use. Don't use Notaty to process content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to record or upload.
- No abuse of the service. Don't try to circumvent usage limits, interfere with the app's operation, or reverse-engineer it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse free-tier limits (for example, by repeatedly creating new accounts or devices to bypass them), or use the service unlawfully.
AI-generated content
Notaty uses third-party AI models to generate transcripts, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and chat answers. This content is generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or miss context — it's meant to help you study and organize, not to serve as an authoritative record. Don't rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other decisions where accuracy is critical, and always check anything important against the original recording or source.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. This permanently removes your notes, transcripts, and other content and cannot be undone — see our Privacy Policy for details on what's deleted. We may also suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
Service availability
We work to keep Notaty available and reliable, but we don't guarantee the app, or any specific feature, will be available at all times, error-free, or uninterrupted. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (with reasonable notice where practical) as the product evolves.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Notaty is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Notaty and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or content, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Notaty will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update the "last updated" date shown on this page and notify existing users by email. Continuing to use Notaty after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
